First contact remarks on umbra difference calculus references streams

چکیده
The reference links to the modern " classical umbral calculus " (before that properly called Blissard's symbolic method) and to Steffensen-actuarialist.....are numerous. The reference links to the EFOC (Extended Finite Operator Calculus) founded by Rota with numerous outstanding Coworkers, Followers and Others ... and links to Roman-Rota functional formulation of umbra calculi ... .....are giant numerous. The reference links to the difference q-calculus-umbra-way treated or without even referring to umbra.... .....are plenty numerous. These reference links now result in counting in thousands the relevant papers and many books. The purpose of the present attempt is to offer one of the keys to enter the world of those thousands of references. This is the first glimpse-not much structured-if at all. The place of entrance was chosen selfish being subordinated to my present interests and workshop purposes. You are welcomed to add your own information. Motto Herman Weyl April 1939 The modern evolution has on the whole been marked by a trend of algebraization ...-from an invited address before AMS in conjunction with the cetential celebration of Duke University.

An umbral setting for cumulants and factorial moments
We provide an algebraic setting for cumulants and factorial moments through the classical umbral calculus. Main tools are the compositional inverse of the unity umbra, connected with the logarithmic power series, and a new umbra here introduced, the singleton umbra. Various formulae are given expressing cumulants, factorial moments and central moments by umbral functions.

متن کاملBrightness, distribution, and evolution of sunspot umbral dots
Context. Umbral Dots (UDs) are thought to be manifestations of magnetoconvection in sunspot umbrae. Recent advances in their theoretical description point to the need for a thorough study of their properties and evolution based on data with the highest currently achievable resolution. Aims. Our UD analysis aims to provide parameters such as lifetimes, diameters, horizontal velocities, and peak ...
متن کاملUmbral Fine Structures in Sunspots Observed with Hinode Solar Optical Telescope
High resolution imaging observation of a sunspot umbra was done with Hinode Solar Optical Telescope (SOT). Filtergrams in wavelengths of blue and green continuum were taken during three consecutive days. The umbra consisted of a dark core region, several diffuse components and numerous umbral dots. We derived basic properties of umbral dots (UDs), especially their temperatures, lifetimes, prope...
متن کاملThe dependence of the magnetic field strength of a sunspot umbra on its intensity and brightness temperature
A partial decrease of the convective energy by the magnetic field of a sunspot causes the temperature of the magnetized plasma to decrease and this leads to a magneto-hydrostatic equilibrium. Thus, we expect a strong relation between magnetic field strength of a sunspot and its temperature/brightness. Here, we investigate this relation in the umbra of the large sunspot in NOAA10930 using spectr...
